ROOTSS
Responsive Outreach and Opportunities for Teens with chronic illness to Support Substance use prevention (ROOTSS)
Our team is currently seeking teens, caregivers of adolescents, and healthcare providers from school-based health centers in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to participate in a research study focus group conversation.
In this group, we will be asking your perspective about a drug and alcohol program for students with chronic illnesses. This group is for students or guardians of students between 14-18 years old who have a chronic medical condition and receive treatment at a CPS school-based health center. We’re also recruiting staff members at CPS school-based health centers who have been employed for at least three months. Participants must be able to speak and read English, and have no visual, hearing, or voice impairment.
Focus groups will occur at a CPS school and food will be provided. Each participant will earn $25 for their time in the group.
If you have any questions or would like additional information about this study, please email Kennedy Curtis (kencurtis@luriechildrens.org) or Dr. Faith Summersett Williams (fswilliams@luriechildrens.org).
