Dissemination & Implementation Science
Summer Program in Chicago (D&I in CHI)
The Dissemination & Implementation Science Summer Program in Chicago (D&I in CHI) is a cross-institutional collaboration between the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) , Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (NU) , and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (LCH). D&I in CHI aims to cultivate an early and diverse pipeline of future D&I scientists through mentored, hands-on research experiences with a structured didactic curriculum, professional development sessions, and community-engaged activities.
The D&I in CHI Summer Internship Program was created in 2019 to address the gap in structured training opportunities in D&I science for early-stage learners. Initially developed by faculty at UIC, the program has since expanded into a tri-institutional model in partnership with NU and LCH. If you or someone you know may be interested in joining the D&I in CHI summer program next year, either as an intern or as a faculty mentor, stay tuned to this page for future program announcements in early 2026. Questions about the program or how to get involved may also be directed to the program directors, Dr. Kate Merrill (kgm@uic.edu) and Dr. Faith Summersett Williams (fswilliams@luriechildrens.org).
